Welcome to the new red squirrel photo artist's blog! We have just returned from a trip to northern California and I am posting three new images from the magnificent seaside garden, the Mendocino Coastal Botanical Garden.
Jane Lammers has had a lifelong interest in the natural world, the visual arts, and architecture. She has traveled extensively in the continental US and Hawaiian Islands, visiting botanical gardens, national parks, forests, and other natural areas, as well as art institutes and photographic exhibits in New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, St. Louis, Houston, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and Rochester, NY.
Jane is a member of the St. Lawrence County Arts Council, the Lake Placid Center for the Arts, and supports the Art Institute of Chicago and the Canadian National Gallery in Ottawa. Jane and her husband Bernie have sponsored awards for excellence in both photography and sculpture at the annual St. Lawrence County High School Art Show, held at SUNY Potsdam’s Gibson Gallery.
Jane has studied biology and botany at Carleton College (MN) and Cornell University. She is a sustaining member of the Missouri Botanical Garden, a major botanical research institution as well as an international leader in sponsoring research to understand and maintain biodiversity worldwide.
